Youth Play Workshop

I am planning a small drama workshop towards at the end of the summer hols to start working on our next PVADS Youth Theatre play – THE BEE HIVE by Nettie Baskcomb Brown!

Bees are the BUZZ word of the moment and having just acquired a few thousand of these fascinating creatures – I have some brilliant ideas for a play all about their buzzy lives- including loads of characters, food foraging, making a hive, making honey, dances, music and lots of fun!

The Drama Workshop would be at the Bouverie Hall EITHER:-

3.30pm – 6.30pm on Sunday 25th August,

5.30pm – 7.30pm Wednesday 28th August,

OR

3.30pm – 6.30pm on Sunday 1st September.

For those who are interested, please let me know which of these days you could make (or all of them)

(I’m trying to fit this in before you go back to school so let me know when you can be there and I’ll choose the best date for most of you!)

PVADS Membership not necessary

The plan for the workshop is for you young actors to improvise a ‘year in the life of a beehive’ including:-

Developing the characters – guard bees, nurse bees, larvae, the queen, drones, scouts, foragers, undertakers etc.

Acting scenes from the action – the winter cluster, new bee flights, human intervention, new queens, drone mating congregations, swarms, wasp attack etc.

Sprinkle all these facts with a bit of science – and a bit of magic – and we will develop the play together!
