ABOUT US

Pewsey Vale Amateur Dramatic Society or PVADS is a vibrant local theatre group who have been performing plays and pantomimes in the Bouverie Hall, Pewsey for over 90 years! We have over 50 actors, young and old, who tread the boards regularly to entertain ever increasing audiences.

We produce several performances during the year including full length plays, pantomime, themed evenings in support of the famous Pewsey Carnival.

We pride ourselves on the range and quality of our performances and have achieved many accolades over the years.

Our traditional pantomimes are very family friendly with time honoured characters, lots of comedy and usually some loud special effects!

Many of our full length plays are very challenging and yet according to our reviews and critics we manage to produce some very professional theatre – Albert Make us Laugh, The Graduate, Oliver Twist. But we do like a good comedy too – Noises Off,  ‘Allo ‘Allo!, Comic Potential, Out of Order to name but a few.

Rehearsals: We are extremely lucky to have access to the Bouverie hall for all of our rehearsals so cast and crew can familiarise themselves from early in the production process. Rehearsals are usually on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoon/evening.

Wardrobe: We have a large costume collection in our purpose built hall which we use for our productions and carnival events and always welcome donations of unusual costumes or uniforms.

Technical: We continuously update our technical equipment and have state of the art lighting and sound desks, including radio microphones, laser lights, pyrotechnics and a hearing loop available in the hall.
