Harold Jolliffe
Hello PVADS people,
What an extraordinary week we’ve had! It has been very busy for all of us and I would just like to start it off by saying a big WELL DONE to everyone who was involved and THANK YOU to everyone who came to support us.
On Wednesday, we did a preview performance of ‘The Laundry Room’ and ‘Watching the Magpies’. Thanks to everybody who came and gave feedback afterwards.
On Friday, we performed ‘The Laundry Room’ at the Harold Jolliffe One Act Play festival in Swindon. It went really well and we were given great comments from the adjudicator. The next day, our adult play also performed. Stunning performances from Nettie, Avril and Steve!
‘The Laundry Room’, as well as being nominated for many of the awards, got the award for Achievement In Technical Theatre.
I was also nominated for best youth actor! 😛 Well done to Izzy, Jazz and my little sister Miranda for their nominations as well. I am extremely proud of the whole cast!
I would also like to say a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Quirky Bird Theatre for ‘Tusk Tusk’ who won not only the best youth play, but also the best play overall! The performances were outstanding and they were deserved winners!
‘Tusk Tusk’ and another play which also performed at Swindon called ‘The Proposal’ (A hilarious play by Chekhov) have made it to the quarter finals of The All England Theatre Festival. These plays, along with three others, will be performing at the Bouverie Hall in Pewsey on Saturday 23rd April. It would be absolutely fantastic if you could come along and watch. More information on the poster below.
